The announcement of Sonic Origins not only caused nostalgic feelings this week.
At least some of the pre-order and bonus content for the game was greeted with amazement.

Anyone who buys the digital version of Sonic Origins unlocks mirror mode and receives a letterbox mode in Mega Drive design.
If you get the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, there is also a letterbox/widescreen mode, more difficult missions, character animations and camera controls in the main menu, character animations during music playback and exclusive tracks from the Mega Drive games.

Offering character animations in the main menu as an incentive to buy seems rather strange.
