Metroid Prime 4 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Nintendo games by the Big N community. After an initial announcement in 2017, Samus’ new 3D adventure experienced some setbacks before being very, very discreet. For news of the Metroid spin-off, it is better to look on the side of the fans who today offer a 4K 60 FPS remaster of the first opus.

MPR Phaze 1, the ambitious project of Samus fans

While news of Metroid Prime 4 is scarce and we are still waiting for information regarding a possible port of Metroid Prime Trilogy on Nintendo Switch, fans are trying to wait as long as they can. Today, we are talking regarding a particularly attractive project proposed by Team MPR, enthusiasts who have given their all to bring new life to Metroid Prime first of the name. And we must admit that the result is rather convincing.

This version offers globally improved graphics rendering with 4K textures and a 60 FPS framerate. But more than just a boost, it’s also a real tweaking job with new HD textures and better lighting effects. Several options are also added to the basic game, allowing you to fully customize your HUD. Playable with the controller or the keyboard/mouse combo, the work of Team MPR commands respect.

What to wait before Metroid Prime 4?

Important precision, the title is accessible via the Dolphin emulator but you must however have a copy of the original game on Gamecube or the port Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii to be able to launch it. In this way, the members of Team MPR protect themselves from a possible copyright dispute. We know that Nintendo is intransigent when it comes to intellectual property. If you have a copy of the game, you can already download this version available on GitHub. On the other hand, for those who wanted to discover this remaster without owning a copy, you can always fall back on Metroid Dreadthe latest hit released last year on Switch.

So yes, this very nice project allows you to wait longer while waiting for Metroid Prime 4, but concretely, when does it happen? The only track that we have for the moment corresponds to the movement coming from Retro Studios, in charge of the development of this new title,
who recently gifted fans with an image showcasing the space heroine in a visually obscure to say the least.. Not much then, but at least a track. We are still waiting for news that might arrive soon.
