He appeared with a puffy face and hid his hand… A clip that exacerbates doubts about Putin’s health. Is he seriously ill? (video)

A video clip of Vladimir Putin’s meeting with his defense minister has raised doubts regarding the health of the Russian president and the possibility of his serious illness.

While receiving Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Putin appeared with a puffy face and gripped the edge of the table tightly throughout the 12-minute clip, which was published by the Kremlin.

The New York Post said that the clip prompted comments from politicians and experts, and Anders Aslund, a Swedish economist, who worked as a consultant to Russia, wrote that “Putin and his minister both appeared depressed and apparently in poor health.”

“The footage supports previous reports that Vladimir Putin has Parkinson’s disease,” former British politician Louise Minch wrote on Twitter.

She added that in the meeting, “he succeeded in hiding his hand, but his leg did not stop clicking.”

In turn, body language expert, Eric Boxy, told the “Sun” newspaper that Putin’s face appeared to be clearly swollen and promote an unhealthy appearance.

The professor at the University of Texas added that “Putin looked astonishingly weak compared to what he did years ago.”
