DUBAI, 23rd April / WAM / Emirati businessman Abdul Rahim Mohammed Balghazouz Al Zarooni donated one million dirhams to the “One Billion Meals” campaign, in support of the largest initiative in the region launched by “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” to provide relief to the needy and provide food aid to the less fortunate in 50 countries. around the world.

The “Billion Meals” initiative enables individuals, institutions, economic activities, and the business community wishing to support charitable, humanitarian and community work to support the initiative’s goals, which aim to provide a food safety net that extends from the Emirates to needy individuals and families in the less fortunate communities covered by the initiative.

The world today suffers from many challenges, foremost of which is hunger.

The campaign to feed the hungry in 50 countries represents the spirit of the holy month and translates its values ​​into reality.

The “One Billion Meals” campaign, with its scale, sets a precedent in the region, and comes as part of the state’s efforts to reduce hunger, poverty and malnutrition in the Arab world in particular, and to support the second goal of the sustainable development goals adopted by the global community, to end all forms of malnutrition in the world by 2030 Hunger threatens the lives of more than 800 million people, 52 million of them in the Middle East and North Africa.
