Covid-19. In Brittany, the incidence rate is falling

According to the latest bulletin from the Regional Health Agency (ARS), released on Friday April 22, 2022, the health situation linked to Covid improves in Brittany.

Between April 14 and April 20, 93,147 tests were carried out, with a positivity rate of 42.3%.

The incidence rate continues to decline in the region and stands at 1,025.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a drop of 510.2 points compared to the previous week.

Still high hospital activity

More “Hospital activity, which is down slightly, is still very high”, alert the ARS. This Friday, 614 hospitalizations for reasons of Covid are in progress (-39) in Brittany, including 50 in the intensive care unit (+4) and 405 in conventional medicine (-45). “In this context of hospital tension, for any medical need that cannot wait for the opening of medical practices, always call 15 before going to the emergency room”, advises the ARS. Since the start of the epidemic, 2,691 patients have died (+53).

As of April 21, 7,901,826 injections have been performed in Brittany. The vaccination coverage of the population is 84.5% and 86.6% of the eligible population received their booster dose.
