Recently, the Smilegate MMORPG, published by Amazon Games in our region, received a substantial update which brings a lot of new features, including a specialization and a new region. However, it is not only in European countries that Lost Ark welcomes novelty since on the South Korean servers, the cradle of the creation of the game, a major update will soon be deployed!

It is with a certain lag that Lost Ark has settled down in our European countries. Under the impetus of Amazon Games – which has recently made a specialty of the MMO genre – Smilegate’s game is now playable by a whole new audience. However, much further east, Korean players have much more experience with the game, and this translates into a much more advanced plot and content list. This discrepancy between the European and South Korean servers is even more glaring because when we welcome the update ” Battle for the Chaos Throne (whose trailer can be found below), the Korean version of Lost Ark is regarding to discover a whole new continent, reserved for the most seasoned players.
In five days, the continent of Elgacia will open its doors on Korean servers, further reinforcing what’s new in Season 2 of the MMORPG in the Land of the Morning Calm. The universe of Lost Ark will therefore expand with a new area considered sacred territory, populated by the Lazeni people and dotted with flying islands. From the few information published, we learn that these winged characters were created, at the same time as the world, by the gods. However, their participation in a terrible war forced them to remove this divine privilege, with a few rare exceptions.

More than a major extension, the arrival of Elgacia should mark a turning point in the history of Lost Ark, according to the admission of one of the developers of the MMO. It would even be from a conclusion of season 2 which high-level adventurers will have the privilege of attending because it is mainly to them that this new area is addressed where gear level 1460 will not be too much, apparently! By the way, who says new area, says new major challenge, and Elgacia is no exception to the rule with Kayangell, an abyssal dungeon with several difficulty levels.

South Korea has the chance to try all this from April 27, but it is still impossible to say when the region will launch with us. : for the moment, Amazon Games has a wide choice of content which means that this continent, of very high level – let’s remember -, will not be launched anytime soon.
