District I of the College of Physicians came out to support Dr. Silvia González Ayala following the controversial decision of the Faculty of Medical Sciences to retire the renowned infectologist.
As published since yesterday, the resolution argues that the infectologist -a reference at the national and international level- “on June 10, 2019 made the option by which she requested the closure of computations”, which “on March 15 of 2021, the aforementioned teacher was delivered the respective certifications of services and remunerations”, and “that the term provided for in Art. 8 of Resolution 1067/18 of the University has been met”, it is expressed.
“I was not surprised by the rumors, but I did not think it would be so fast,” the doctor told this newspaper yesterday regarding the procedure.
“Given the unexpected termination of her position as a teacher in the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the UNLP, District I of the College of Physicians of the Province of Buenos Aires expresses its unconditional support for Dr. Silvia González Ayala,” they stated this Friday from the College of Physicians.
And they add that “with an internationally recognized trajectory in the field of infectology, Dr. González Ayala constitutes a bastion of our Health System, as is demonstrated in the commitment printed in her professional and scientific work, and in the formation of the undergraduate and postgraduate human resources.
And they end: “From this medical institution, our sincere recognition and thanks.”
