The Akkar Change List issued a clarification statement on what was stated in the statement issued by the candidate, Wafaa Jamil, who announced that she had stopped completing her candidacy.
First: When the revolutionary and change forces decided to form a unified list, it was known to everyone that the expenses of the electoral machine would be covered by the Lebanese expatriates, like the rest of the other electoral districts in Lebanon.
Second: The expatriates’ delay and reluctance to support electoral machines for the change lists in all of Lebanon was caused by the dispersal of efforts, as fifty-six change lists were formed in 15 districts at the national level instead of only fifteen lists, in addition to the absence of a broad national coalition that includes the change lists The main aim is to motivate resident and expatriate voters to vote massively and to provide support.
Third: No candidate who joined the Akkar Change List and pledged to the people to defend the rights of Akkar and its people once morest the corrupt authority is not entitled to announce that he has stopped completing his candidacy just because he was waiting for certain funding to launch his electoral campaign, especially since we, as a change list, absolutely reject the methods of the representatives of the authority And the party candidates who buy the votes of the hungry and needy to win their votes, and we seek to address the citizens with addresses and reform programs that can achieve growth, reform and advance the country from the bottom of the collapse.
Raya: Those who formed Akkar’s list of change are the forces of revolution and change in Akkar, and no one from outside Akkar or from the platforms has anything to do with its formation or interference with it.
Fifth: The platforms did not make any promises to us to pay any movable money as was reported or said. Rather, the platforms promised all the change regulations in Lebanon to provide logistical services such as training delegates, organizing the work of the electoral machine, publishing advertisements and other services that do not include giving each candidate sums of money.
Finally, we, the members of Akkar’s list of change, confirm that we are proceeding with the electoral battle as promised to everyone who gave us their confidence, despite all the temptations and the war being waged once morest us by the corrupt regime and its shabiha in order to withdraw for their benefit. We are steadfast in confrontation, God willing.
