A 17-year-old teenager, following giving birth, killed her baby and then threw it out of a window.
The events took place in the young woman’s house, located on Bienvenido street in the Elena de Chávez sector, in Calabozo, Guárico state.
On Wednesday morning, the girl locked herself in the bathroom of her house and gave birth there.
During childbirth, the teenager took a pair of scissors and cut the umbilical cord of the 38-week-old newborn, and with the same tool, made several wounds before disposing of the body by throwing it out a window.
The minor’s relatives, according to police sources, realized what had happened and immediately took the mother and baby to the Dr. Rafael Urdaneta Delgado hospital.
The victim was admitted without vital signs and presented five wounds: one in the neck (regarding 5 cm), one in the clavicle; another in the hemithorax, one in the maxillary region and another in the face.
As for the teenager, it was learned that she was under medical observation and that of scientific police officials, who will be in charge of placing her at the order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, as well as the evidence collected.
