Unfortunately, it’s a growing fact that many idols suffer from anxiety and depression. Although things are moving to recognize these conditions lately, it is important for idols to open up regarding the subject.
Recently, on April 20, the American media “Entertainment Tonight” shared one of their latest interviews on their official Youtube channel. In this interview, GOT7 member Jackson made an appearance, where he talked regarding the difficulties he faced following his fame in the entertainment industry.
During the interview, Jackson admitted to feeling like his life was “like a loop” due to his continually hectic schedules.
“For the past eight years, I have lived a commercial life. I [vivais selon] schedules… Shows following shows. It’s like a loop”, Jackson said.
Jackson continued: “That’s why following eight, nine years, I got to a point where I lost everything mentally. As if I was lost, I did not know what to do.
He then revealed that it got to a point where he didn’t tell anyone regarding the stress he was facing. He chose to solve the problems by himself.
“I was a person who, whenever I faced stress, I wouldn’t talk to anyone because I was like, ‘Yo, I’m just going to find a solution and I’m just going to solve it. ‘” Jackson said.
However, thanks to friends around Jackson, who insisted that he talk regarding his struggles with them, he was able to break free.
“It got to a point with the positive energy, the friends around me, they gave me this [énergie]. They forced and insisted that I sit down and talk. This is the first time in my life that I feel this connection, and it inspired me“said the GOT7 member.
Thanks to the insistence of his friends, they were able to change Jackson and how he sees himself.
He said: “I’m like, ‘Yeah. You know what? Everything I had before, who I was before, who cares. And now I’m the new me, and I allow myself to accept it. It is magic.”
Meanwhile, Jackson debuted with GOT7 in January 2014 under JYP Entertainment. After his contract with the label ended, he parted ways with JYP Entertainment in January 2021, along with the rest of his fellow GOT7 members. Although still a member of the band, he is currently focusing on his solo career.
