It’s a small message, moving, but which takes on a different meaning today. A few weeks ago, when she was the Alex Reed of Pascal Vrebos on RTL-TVI, Sophie Wilmès had dedicated her last intervention to her husband. The presenter of the private channel had asked her what she would say to the child Sophie Wilmès, when a photo of the former young Prime Minister appeared on the screen.
After having answered with humor regarding her haircut, Sophie Wilmès took a more serious tone: “I would say to him” one day you will meet an Australian and keep your attention on him because he is a nice guy “”. This Australian is therefore Christopher, the husband of Sophie Wilmès.
The one for whom the former Prime Minister is putting her political career on hold. This morning, Sophie Wilmès indeed announced that she had decided to put herself “immediately” on leave from her ministerial duties to “be present” alongside her husband who is fighting once morest brain cancer.
“Today, the disease has suddenly entered our lives and, in particular, that of my husband, Christopher, who must begin (…) his fight once morest aggressive brain cancer”, she added.
