Man dies from stab wounds, woman injured

A bleeding woman runs out of a house entrance in downtown Munich. In the stairwell, the police find a seriously injured man. An emergency operation can no longer save him. What exactly happened between the two neighbors is still unclear.
Dramatic scenes took place in the middle of Munich on Thursday followingnoon: A woman ran out of a house with a knife in her hand, she was bleeding – a passer-by called the police. Several stripes are approaching. Armed officers in helmets and bulletproof and stab-proof vests enter the building. The 27-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man found in the stairwell were initially taken to the hospital with cuts and stab wounds, police said. In the evening, a police spokesman confirmed that the 45-year-old had succumbed to his serious injuries in the hospital.
What exactly happened in the building on Sendlinger Strasse in Munich’s pedestrian zone is still unclear. According to their own statements, the police arrived with around 50 forces. “Apparently there was a dispute or conflict between the two,” said a police spokesman. The two injured lived in the same house. The exact reason for the dispute initially remained unclear – as was the question of who had injured whom with the knife and when. According to the first findings of the investigators, third parties were not involved.
The police had described the condition of the 45-year-old as critical in the followingnoon due to severe stab wounds, and in the evening the man died in a clinic following an emergency operation. The 27-year-old, on the other hand, was responsive and apparently suffered cuts on her hands. A police spokesman did not want to provide any information on Thursday evening for reasons of investigative tactics. The “Bild” newspaper reports that the woman told the police that her neighbor attacked her first.
Criminal Investigation Department took over the investigation. On Thursday followingnoon, forensics workers were in the vicinity of the crime scene and marked, among other things, certain places on the sidewalk, eyewitnesses reported. Traces of blood were seen on the sidewalk. The area around the scene of the incident was temporarily cordoned off.
