Kevin Durant jaded by the Boston defense, it’s the game my poor Lucette!

The Nets are trailing 2-0 by Boston and Kevin Durant is not happy. Not happy with the score, obviously, but also with himself. In Game 2, “KD” unpinned and shot at 4/17, compensating for his clumsiness with a whopping 18/20 on the line to reach 27 points. This awkwardness, the Brooklyn winger does not attribute it only to himself.

The Celtics have clearly focused their defensive efforts on Durant and it’s a situation that annoys him as much as it seems to render him helpless at the moment.

“They play with two or three guys on top of me when I don’t have the ball and cook stuff up too when I have the ball. Sometimes Al Horford would drop their player to come at me and shove me. they send two or three guys on me,” he said wearily.

As the best striker in the world, Kevin Durant is used to getting special treatment from defenses. He generally puts up with it and it rarely prevents him from scoring at leisure. But the fact that Boston pushes the concept to the extreme disconcerts him particularly. Seeing him complaining regarding taking two or three is not reassuring for Brooklyn. The defenses have been giving Stephen Curry this special treatment every night for the past 7 or 8 years, but we’ve never heard the Warriors point guard complain regarding it.

KD will have to do violence to himself and find a way to shine by thwarting Ime Udoka’s plans as much as possible. Otherwise the series will not last as long as expected… We can obviously say that with an additional playmaker – what should have been James Harden and what should be Ben Simmons if he returns in time – the Nets and Kevin Durant would have less hard life. Things are like that for the moment and Steve Nash has no choice but to draw on the resources of his two stars as much as possible.

Wanda Durant, KD’s mother, has other culprits in mind to explain her son’s relative difficulty: the referees.
