H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, stressed the importance of calming the situation and stopping any practices that violate the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
This came during a telephone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, during which they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for joint cooperation in addition to the situation in the region and regional and international issues of common interest.
His Highness pointed out the need to respect the important historical role played by the sisterly Kingdom of Jordan in caring for sanctities and endowments under international law.
His Highness praised the Israeli government’s decision to prevent the “Flags’ March” from reaching the Bab al-Amoud area, as well as preventing non-Muslim visitors from entering the courtyards of Al-Aqsa from tomorrow, Friday, until the end of Ramadan.
His Highness indicated that our region needs stability and joint action in order to move forward in development paths at all levels in order to achieve the aspirations of peoples for progress and prosperity.
His Highness congratulated Yair Lapid on the occasion of Easter, expressing his aspiration to strengthen cooperation with Israel in all fields and to work together to consolidate peace and stability in the region.
