God of War: Ragnarok | The study anticipates that “something great is coming”

Kratos will return to Norse mythology in the sequel to God of War that was released in 2018. Sony Santa Monica plans to release God of War: Ragnarök in 2022, although we do not know the exact release date at this time. Cory Barlog, the director of the previous game, has appeared in an official video published on the studio’s social networks, where he has explained why there has been no news regarding the title in recent months. He has asked the community for a little patience and has assured that “something great is coming”

“We haven’t talked much regarding” God of War: Ragnarök, Barlog has acknowledged. “This is because people” are “working hard”. According to the creative, they are perfectionists, so they are polishing the graphics to the maximum. “There’s so much going on that I’d love to share with you, but it’s not quite ready to show yet.”

And he adds: “At the moment, the second there is something we can share, we will do it, because we do not wish to retain any of this. Please wait, know that something great is coming and that we, here in Santa Monica, are incredibly grateful for the support you have provided us.”

An intergenerational game

God of War: Ragnarök continues the story of the previous installment. Kratos and his son Arceus will live a new adventure in which they will have to delve into their interior and fight once morest dangerous threats. Like Gran Turismo 7 or Horizon Forbidden West, this product has been conceived as an intergenerational game. From the beginning it was confirmed for both PS4 and PS5.

If everything goes according to plan, the long-awaited work of Sony Santa Monica will complete its development this same year. Will it be possible to upgrade for free from the previous generation version to the new one? The answer is negative: for some time, Sony established the payment of 10 euros to access the improvements if you have the game on PlayStation 4. And will it come to PC? They do not know.

Everything seems to indicate that Amazon is trading a possible series the god of war.
