A case of murder was presented in the department of Magdalena, Colombia.
The lifeless body corresponds to that of a young woman of approximately 15 years, who was found dead in the aforementioned municipality.
The woman was attacked with a sharp weapon and was fatally wounded in the neck. The teenager responded to the name of Rosmary Andrade and she was of Venezuelan nationality.
The lifeless body was found in a vacant lot in the Altos de Alfaro sector, at the height of the road that connects the municipalities of El Banco Magdalena, towards the municipality of Chimichagua Cesar.
The young victim is the daughter of José Andrade, a humble vendor in the sector who works in the ‘El Chato’ fruit and vegetable business.
According to preliminary information from the Departmental Police, the finding was reported by a citizen who was passing by and immediately called the police emergency line to report the case.
The Police began the search for the images in the security cameras installed near the sector, in order to clarify the facts and find the person responsible for the crime. Likewise, the authorities are investigating whether the minor was sexually abused before the homicide was committed.
The human rights defender and director of the ‘Frente Amplio de Mujeres’ foundation in Magdalena, Jennifer del Toro, said that by 2021, more than 900 women in the department reported being victims of violence, and in 2020 the figure exceeded 800 cases; figures that show as a result the growing violence once morest women.
