SEGA already confirmed last year Sonic Origins is a reboot of the classic games that more details have now been leaked. A potential release date is also mentioned here.
Sonic Origins consists of the classic games Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles such as Sonic CD, which are made fit once more for the current consoles. You are not aiming for a simple emulation, but porting the games like any other new edition, as promised last year.
Im PlayStation Store read now that from the legendary Green Hill Zone to the insidious Death Egg Robot, you race through the past to thwart Doctor Robotnik’s sinister plans in polished high definition. These new versions also include new areas to explore, additional animations and a brand new anniversary mode.
In addition, each title gets a new opening and ending in animated form, new missions, challenges and special stages to unlock, as well as the choice between Classic and Anniversary Mode. These are described as follows:
“Choose between racing through the numerous zones in Classic mode with the game’s original resolution and limited lives, or in the new Anniversary mode with unlimited lives and an overhauled full-screen resolution.”
Apart from that, a new artwork and the release date were also leaked, which therefore falls on June 22, 2022.
