The Russian, ex-No. 1 in world women’s tennis, announced the good news on Tuesday, her 35th birthday.
Maria Sharapova has been engaged since December 2020 to British businessman Alexander Gilkes.

Russian Maria Sharapova is pregnant with her first child, the former No. 1 in world tennis announced on Tuesday, the day of her 35th birthday.
“Precious beginnings! Eating a birthday cake for two has always been my specialty,” she posted on her Instagram account, captioning a photo where she shows off her baby bump while posing on a beach.
Sharapova has been engaged since December 2020 to British businessman Alexander Gilkes.
The former world No. 1, who retired in February 2020, won five Grand Slam titles (Australian Open 2008, Roland-Garros 2012 and 2014, Wimbledon 2004 and US Open 2006).
