Mohamed Salah scored two goals and contributed to another goal, to lead Liverpool to a 4-0 victory over its guest Manchester United in a derby at Anfield, to top the English Premier League on Tuesday.
Five minutes following the start, Salah passed a cross that his colleague Luis Diaz easily turned into the net, then the Egypt captain added the second goal following Sadio Mane’s pass in the 22nd minute.
It was Mane’s turn to score the third goal following Diaz’s pass in the 68th minute, before Salah concluded the goals with a falling shot in the 85th minute, and consolidated his lead in the competition’s top scorer with 22 goals.
Liverpool, who beat United 5-0 in the first leg, topped the competition with 76 points from 32 games, two points behind Manchester City, who played 31 games and will face Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday.
