The Ministry of Labor announced today (18) the latest statistics on work reduction and rest (unpaid leave), a total of 2,167 companies and 13,517 people have implemented them, an increase of 159 companies and 1,319 people in a single week. The industries with more significant increases in this period are manufacturing, transportation and warehousing. And support service industry, among them, a domestic airline reported more than 300 people, and another auto parts industry successively reported more than 100 people.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Labor, as of mid-April, a total of 13,517 people in Taiwan were on unpaid leave. Among them, 8,009 people in the support service industry, mainly travel agencies, were still the highest in all industries, an increase of 372 people from the previous week.

The second is the transportation and warehousing industry. A total of 1,412 unpaid leave were implemented in this period, an increase of 388 in a single week. The Ministry of Labor revealed that a domestic airline company has implemented more than 300 people successively, which has greatly increased the number of people.

In addition, the number of unpaid leave in the manufacturing industry also increased significantly from the previous week, from 797 to 1,156, an increase of 359 in a single week. Among them, the metal mechanical and electrical industry surged to 448, exceeding 445 in the people’s livelihood industry, and 175 in the information and electronics industry. implement.

The Ministry of Labor pointed out that an auto parts manufacturer continued to implement more than 100 employees, and the information electronics industry simultaneously increased by 78 employees. One of the manufacturers implemented more than 60 employees, mainly because of fires and implemented unpaid leave.

With the spread of the local epidemic, the command center recently announced that starting from April 22, three doses of vaccination must be completed before they can participate in incense groups, tour groups, gyms, etc. The number of people during the holiday will remain at 8,000 and 9,000, and there is no significant change. It remains to be seen whether the border control can be further relaxed during the summer holiday.
