Super League: Lausanne-Sport wins in relegation battle against Lugano

The game

For the first time this season, Lausanne-Sport can record two home wins in a row. Led by a strong Zeki Amdouni, following Servette two weeks ago, the people of Vaud are now also sending Lugano home 4-1.

Amdouni secured Lausanne’s three before the break with a superb goal to make it 2-0. The bottom of the table goes into the second round with a two-goal lead, but victory is never really in danger. A brief revolt by Lugano, which is very well rewarded with the interim 3:1, is not enough for a turnaround. Lugano would have had the chance to finish in the top 3 and thus have a look at Europe. But the Ticino are surprisingly listless on the pitch. Unlike Lausanne. Amdouni put the end of the game in the 90th minute from the penalty point to 4:1.

The goals

23. Minute, 1: 0 Adrien Trebel: Kukuruzovic corners low in the middle where Trebel stands by and scores to give the home team the lead.

45. Minute, 2:0 Zeki Amdouni: The young striker flicks the ball wonderfully into the upper left corner. Lugano keeper Saipi has absolutely no chance.

60. Minute, 3:0 Brahima Ouattara: With luck, the ball somehow gets from Coyle to Ouattara, who doesn’t need to be asked twice and inserts it to make it 3-0.

74 minutes, 3-1 Maxime Poundje (own goal): After a cross from the right, Castella and Poundje obstruct each other and the ball ends up in their own goal via the Lausanne defender. A very unfortunate action.

90th Minute, 4:1 Zeki Amdouni: After Kevin Rüegg fouled Hicham Mahou, Amdouni converted the penalty without any problems.

The best

Zeki Amdouni. The Luganesi never really get a grip on the lively Lausanne striker. The Swiss-Turk hits the Ticino practically with the break and the final whistle.

The worst

Ignacio Aliseda. Most Luganesi disappoint across the board – but he doesn’t even have one good scene. Must leave following 57 minutes.

That was something to talk regarding

After YB’s defeat at FC Zurich, FC Lugano can climb to third place and thus reach for the European competition. But the people of Ticino don’t seem to want that. The appearance in the Stade de la Tuiliere is simply insufficient.

Here’s how to proceed

The weeks of truth are coming up for Lausanne. First, the last one has to go away to GC, then FC Luzern will come to Lake Geneva on May 1st. Next up for Lugano is the cup fight once morest Lucerne at home (Thursday, 7.45 p.m.), then the away game in St. Gallen.
