Putin asked the Prime Minister of Israel to transfer the Alexander Compound to Russia

According to Israeli media, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday sent a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett regarding the fate of the Alexander Nevsky Church located on the Alexander Compound in Jerusalem.

According to Yediot Ahronot, late Sunday evening Vladimir Putin demanded in his letter to Naftali Bennet that the Alexander Nevsky Church in the Old City of Jerusalem be handed over immediately to Russia. The letter states that this was previously promised by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

While this information in the office of the head of the Israeli government has not commented.

At the same time, the chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society (IOPS), Sergei Stepashin, previously stated that Vladimir Putin intended to address Bennett in writing at the Alexander Compound, since the process of transferring him to Russia stalled following the start of a special operation in Ukraine.
