A return to public life. Absent from the media sphere for months, Charlène of Monaco is coming out of retirement.
While the princess returned to the Rock in mid-March following more than three months spent in Switzerland in a specialized establishment, she continued her convalescence in complete discretion, far from official obligations. She is slowly resuming her public activities. On the occasion of the Easter holidays, the mother of Jacques and Gabriella has just made her first public appearance in two photographs shared by the prince’s palace on Instagram.
a family portrait
Former swimming champion appears there surrounded by her two children and next to Prince Albert, under a radiant sun. Short cut, platinum blonde, a slight smile on her lips, she holds her daughter Gabriella in her arms. On their right, Jacques, 7, poses in front of his father and a white rabbit, accompanied by his traditional chocolate egg. All dressed in white and beige, the princely couple and their two children display the face of a peaceful family. A second photograph also shows the family attending, in small groups, a religious service.
“Prince Albert and Princess Charlene wish you a very happy Easter holiday” might we read in the commentary to this publication, which marks the return of Charlene of Monaco to the front of the stage. A return that is taking place gradually, as the Palace announced last March in a press release. “The next few weeks should allow him to fully recover so that he can gradually resume his official activities,” he wrote at the time.
It must be said that the year 2021 has been particularly difficult for the wife of prince Albert. For the record, Charlène de Monaco spent more than six months in South Africa following an infection of the ENT sphere, for which she underwent several surgical operations. Last November, the princess returned to the Rock before leaving two weeks later to rest in Switzerland.
