The Lotte Championship was played on the LPGA Tour following the break of the last few weeks. After the cut, two German women were still in the game at the well-rewarded tournament in Hawaii. Esther Henseleit and Isi Gabsa made the cut, for Henseleit it was enough for a top 30 placement. Unfortunately, Isi Gabsa ended the tournament relegated to the top. The South Korean Hyo Joo Kim won the tournament and took the $300,000 prize money with her.
Esther Henseleit best Germans on the LPGA Tour
After Esther Henseleit made the cut with rounds of 75 and 70, she was able to record similarly solid rounds in rounds 3 and 4 as on day 2. In round 3 she came back outstandingly following a bad start with three bogeys in the front nine, played in the Followed by a birdie and an eagle on the final par 5 for an even par 72. Day 4 also went well for the German. Two early birdies on holes 1 and 3 brought her to two under par. After a bogey on hole 8, the birdie came straight away on the nine. With 34 strokes it went to the back nine. Unfortunately she didn’t get another result under par there and on the 17th she unfortunately had to give up another shot. In the end, however, the second under par round of the tournament was on the scorecard in round 4. The 71 brings Henseleit a top 30 result.
Unfortunately, Isi Gabsa didn’t have such a successful weekend. After the first two rounds, the German easily made the cut with a result of one under par. But in rounds 3 and 4 she left her game a bit. In round 3 she did not yardie and recorded five bogeys. In the final count that meant a 77. On day 4 the birdies came back, but unfortunately a triple bogey and a double bogey crept in. In the end, Gabsa mightn’t fully recover the high numbers and played another round over par, a 74. She ended the tournament in 67th place as the second best German in the cut.

Kim thanks to a good start to the week with victory
South Korean Hyo Joo Kim secured victory at the Lotte Championship on the LPGA Tour. The Proette benefited from her outstanding five under par rounds on Days 1 and 2 over the weekend. After a 72 and 71 over the weekend, it was enough to win by two shots over Japan’s Hinako Shibuno.
Another South Korean is in third place. The defending champion Lydia Ko ended up in 18th place following a rollercoaster weekend and thus missed the back-to-back victory at the Lotte Championship.
