Louga, Apr 17 (APS) – The Convention of Young Reporters of Senegal (CJRS) has condemned the attack once morest Ousmane Kane, journalist of Radio Senegal, in the premises of the regional hospital of Louga, considering that ” these kinds of corporatist reactions (…), irresponsible are inadmissible in a rule of law”.
On Friday, the journalist from the regional station of Radio Senegal was attacked and his work equipment confiscated, while he was reporting inside the Amadou Sakhir Mbaye regional hospital in Louga.
The Collective of Journalists of Louga denounced, “with vigor”, in a press release, the behavior of hospital agents who since the outbreak of the “Astou Sokhna affair”, named following this young woman who died in childbirth , accuse the journalists of having aggravated the situation.
On the same day, he filed a complaint with the Louga central police station.
In its press release received by APS, the CJRS “vigorously” condemns these acts and “demands” that the judicial authorities apply the law in all its rigor “to these health workers who have no place in a hospital”.
The Convention considers that “these kinds of irresponsible (…) corporate reactions are inadmissible in a rule of law”.
“Nothing and no one can prevent journalists from doing their job”, insists the CJRS.
