“It’s disgusting”: Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown opens up about the sexualization she’s faced since coming of age

This week, American actress Millie Bobby Brown, who is known for playing Eleven in Stranger Thingsparticipated in a new chapter of the podcast Guilty Feministinstance in which she shared her impressions regarding how her figure has been sexualized since she debuted in the aforementioned series, when she was a minor at only 12 years old.

“Any 18-year-old is dealing with being an adult and having relationships, friendships and being with loved ones, as well as trying to fit in,” the now-adult artist said in statements gathered by Variety, later explaining that “you’re trying to find yourself while doing that. The only difference is that, obviously, I do it in full view and patiently of the public”.

Faced with this, the actress stated that she noticed an increase in the sexualization of her person over time. In this sense, she said that “you definitely see a difference between the way people act and the way the press and social networks have reacted to my maturity.”

Likewise, he ruled that “the way they treat me should not change according to my age. It’s gross and it’s real. It’s a very good representation of what’s going on in the world and how young girls are being sexualized.”

“I’ve been dealing with it, but actually I’ve always done it,” emphasized the actress, who is currently preparing to appear in the fourth season of Stranger Thingswhich will premiere its first part on Netflix on May 27, while the second will be published on July 1 through the same platform.
