To see on La Une from this Saturday April 16 at 9 p.m., this fifteenth (mini) season comes full circle.
Determined to renew its offer of detective series, TF1 has decided to grant a well-deserved retirement to captain Martin Bernier, camped since 2006 by Xavier Deluc. Last April, the channel announced that following withdrawing Alice Nevers et Profiling of its antenna, it would not renew either Research Section. The channel had however promised fans of the soap opera, saddened by this decision, a farewell with great fanfare in the form of a “mini” season 15 of only two episodes, broadcast on La Une this Saturday April 16, at 9 p.m., then on TF1, Thursday April 21 at 9:05 p.m.
The return of the old
The series, created in 2006 by Dominique Lancelot, Steven Bawol and Yann Le Nivet, plunged us into the investigations of a special unit of the French national gendarmerie, responsible for solving extremely complex cases. At the head of this unit, Captain Martin Bernier, who following fourteen years of good and loyal service, decided to put his weapon away. Xavier Deluc, his interpreter, had expressed to the channel his wish to see his character die… or retire at the end of the series. It was the second option that finally won out with the screenwriters, to the delight of aficionados of the detective soap opera who certainly wanted it to end with a “happy ending”.
