However, the executive department of the new association is adhering to the position that it cannot accept the contract between the construction group and the previous association, such as the dismissal of the president at the time, as there are many legal and procedural problems.
On the other hand, the construction team is of the opinion that there is no problem with the change of the construction contract at that time, as it passed the resolution of the general meeting of the association and received approval from the competent ward office.
The conflict between the two sides running parallel was not resolved, and the construction team completely halted the construction as of 00:00 the previous day, saying that it might no longer carry out traumatic work worth regarding 1.7 trillion won.
The union’s position on this is also strong.
Apart from the cancellation of the resolution related to the increase in construction cost on that day, on the 21st of last month, a lawsuit was filed with the Seoul Eastern District Court to nullify the contract to change the increase in construction cost.
In particular, if the construction team’s construction suspension period lasts for more than 10 days, the union is in a state of counterattack to push forward until the contract is terminated.
“At today’s general meeting, the majority of union members expressed their opinion that the contract to increase construction cost is a contract with legal and procedural flaws,” said an official from the union’s executive department.
Dunchon Jugong Reconstruction is considered to be the ‘largest reconstruction project since Dangun,’ which involves demolishing 5,930 households and building the highest 35-story building, 85 buildings, and 12,32 households. So far, the completion rate has reached 52%.
