“Alf” star Liz Sheridan dies at 93

The US actress is best known for TV roles on the sitcoms ‘Seinfeld’ and ‘Alf’. She started her career as a dancer.

American actress Liz Sheridanwho is best known for her TV roles on the sitcoms ‘Seinfeld’ and ‘Alf,’ is dead. According to her manager Amanda Hendon, she died at her home in New York on Friday, five days following her 93rd birthday, according to the broadcaster CNN and the trade journal “Hollywood Reporter” reported.

She started her career as a dancer in New York. In 1951 she met the then unknown actor James Dean. She wrote regarding their love story in the book Dizzy & Jimmy: My Life With James Dean: A Love Story (2000). It ended when Dean went to Hollywood.

Sheridan appeared in Broadway musicals and in film and television productions from the 1980s. She played a nosy neighbor in the alien series “Alf” and the worried mother of comedian Jerry Seinfeld in the sitcom “Seinfeld”.
