Al-Marsad newspaper: A former member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Dr. Qais Al-Sheikh Mubarak, said that the principle of representation is permissibility, according to what appears to him, if the situation is represented correctly.
He explained, according to “Okaz”, that the prohibition needs evidence, and there is no text of the hadeeth or effect in the prohibition. Pointing to the reservation and embarrassment of some scholars regarding the fatwa’s permissibility, not because of the sanctity of representation in and of itself, but rather to protect the honorable companions.
He pointed out that representation is a depiction of the absent as if it is present in front of the viewer, so description and representation take the place of inspection, as in the hadith: “A woman does not describe a woman to her husband, even as if he is looking at her.” So, description and representation were given the status of sensory vision, and from this hadith Imam Malik took the description in the sale. The absentee removes ignorance from him, so it is permissible to sell the absent on the basis of quality.
