Carey Price back to action tonight

As confirmed by head coach Martin St-Louis: Carey Price will make his first start of the season this Friday evening. The Montreal Canadiens will then begin a busy streak of two games in 24 hours by hosting the New York Islanders.

Price’s last game dates back to the recent Stanley Cup final when the Canadiens lost 1-0 in Tampa, the fifth game once morest the Lightning. The famous goalkeeper then repelled 29 shots.

In morning practice, the veteran received shots from instructor Éric Raymond, which already suggested that he would be playing his first game of the season. Moreover, Raymond admitted that he served an awkward shot to Price during the session.

“Carey is a good guy,” said the instructor, when asked if the goalie had gotten angry.

“My teaching is rather on the game, then recognized Raymond, while praising the talent of Price. We must simplify the game of the goalkeeper.

Michael Pezzetta and Corey Schueneman will also face the Islanders, while Tyler Pitlick and Jordan Harris will be left out. Goaltender Cayden Primeau was transferred to the Laval Rocket.

The CH suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Blue Jackets in Columbus on Wednesday, suffering a seventh loss in its last 10 outings.

Almost guaranteed to miss the series, the “Isles” played the day before. They lost 6-3 to the Penguins in Pittsburgh.

Ironically, the two teams crossed swords on the day of the death of Mike Bossy, legend of this New York formation.

The number 22 had 10 prolific seasons with the Islanders, from 1977 to 1987, totaling 573 goals and 1,126 points in 752 games, winning four Stanley Cups.

The two clubs shared with sadness the news of the death of Bossy, in the morning.
