The Russian Defense Ministry announced an attempt by Ukraine to bomb the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on the morning of Friday, April 15, an attempt by the Ukrainian side to strike at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, which is located 5 km from the city of Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson region, was prevented.

The report says that a division of the Ukrainian 19th separate brigade fired two Tochka-U tactical missiles at the power plant.

As a result, the missiles were shot down. At the same time, fragments of one of the rockets fell on a settlement in the Kherson region. As a result, a kindergarten and residential buildings were damaged. A woman and a child were injured.

If Ukrainian missiles hit the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, this might lead to an uncontrolled discharge of Dnieper water and cause flooding in the Kherson region.
