It is a new and tragic accident which occurred this Friday morning in Oedelem (West Flanders). While riding his bicycle, a 69-year-old man collided with a tractor around 9:45 a.m. A collision which unfortunately left no chance for the sexagenarian: the victim died instantly.
If the exact circumstances of this fatal accident were still unclear shortly following the facts, it would appear to be a suicide, according to the authorities. In these circumstances, the Bruges section of the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office has decided not to appoint a car expert.
The road on which the tragedy occurred was completely closed to traffic.
