The Russian auto industry is in hibernation, and until April 24 even AvtoVAZ conveyors do not work. The release of many models has been put on hold, for example, the KIA Sportage, the production of which, ironically, was launched in Kaliningrad February 21, a few days before the famous events. But we will not be completely without new products, although many of them cannot be called new models – rather, they are anti-crisis. That’s what awaits the Russian car market in the near future.
The crisis found the Russian auto giant in a piquant situation: the plant is dependent on imports and technologies from Renault, which thought about leaving Russia. The most difficult thing is with electronic components, the supply of which to Russia has declined sharply. According to information Drom.ru, already in June, AVTOVAZ will present Lada Granta, devoid of ABS, ESP, airbags and the ERA-GLONASS unit. Due to the transition to a simplified model of the converter and the engine control unit, the environmental class will decrease from Euro-5 to Euro-2. And in a month, Lada Niva Legend should receive similar changes, one of these days noting 45 year old anniversary. Trial batches of cars have already been assembled, but they still have to be certified according to the simplified technical regulations of the Customs Union, which the Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to adopt during the acute phase of the crisis.
