Alexander Zverev defeats Pablo Carreno and qualifies for the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters in Tennis.
Germany’s Alexander Zverev qualified for the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters Tennis Championships, by defeating Spain’s Pablo Carreño 6-2, 7-5.
Zverev is seeking to crown his first title this season, as he has not yet been able to restore the level he presented last year, which led him to crown 6 titles, including the gold in the Tokyo Olympics.
Zverev reached the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo Championships in 2018, losing to Japan’s Kei Nishikori.
Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz defeated Spain’s Albert Ramos 7-6, 6-2, to qualify for the quarter-finals.
This is the first time that Hurkacz has qualified for the quarter-finals in Monte Carlo.
