Three people die in a traffic accident in Santander

This Wednesday, April 13, a tragic accident occurred in the department of Santander in the followingnoon hours, in which unfortunately three people lost their lives. The reasons for the incident are being investigated by the authorities.

The unfortunate event occurred on the road that connects Río Ermitaño with La Lizama, more precisely at kilometer 139, in the area known as Pozo Nutria, located in the west of the department of Santander.

For now, the hypothesis handled by the authorities regarding the accident on Santander highways indicates that it would have occurred due to excessive speed of the people who were traveling in the car and that collided with a truck.

Another version would indicate that the people who were driving the red car, with BSU 807 license plates, improperly overtook in the opposite lane, causing them to crash into a tractor-trailer. However, for now they are hypotheses that must be investigated by the respective authorities.

The information provided by the authorities in the area for now would indicate that the accident occurred on a two-way road, following four in the followingnoon on Wednesday, in a completely rural area of ​​the highway and that the weather was in excellent conditions.

The people who died were two females and one male, who were treated by the official doctor of the Global Life ambulance which covered the Sincelejo-Bogotá route, but not much might be done for the victims.”said Major Andrés Mosquera, head of the Traffic and Transportation section of the Magdalena Medio Police.

The people who died in this tragic traffic accident are currently being identified by the authorities, for their part, The driver of the truck with which the car collided is a 54-year-old man named Jorge Eliécer Reyes Perea and he did not suffer any major injuries.

The driver was treated by the paramedics who arrived at the accident area, but it was not necessary for him to be taken to any health center, since the man was completely unharmed following the accident with the car.

The dream of discovering the sea ended in tragedy for the family of an eight-year-old girl who was the only one to survive a traffic accident that occurred in the Banana Zone in Santa Marta. The minor was traveling in the company of her grandparents and parents with the illusion of knowing the sea and taking advantage of the vacation week that she had.

Brothers, cousins ​​and uncles moved to the municipality of Ciénaga to know the state of health of their relatives, following the accident. Upon arrival at the clinic, the news was not so hopeful for this family, following it became known that two of the vehicle’s occupants died instantly.

Police pensioner José Roberto Peña and his mother María del Carmen González lost their lives at the scene of the accident. José Roberto’s wife, identified as Fanny Estela Martín González, and his daughter-in-law, Karen Yorleny Dueña Roa, died hours following the accident, at the clinic.

Subsequently, José’s son, Walter Peña, Police Subintendent, died; YesHowever, and given the unfortunate news, the family of the deceased received hopeful news: the eight-year-old girl, daughter of Walter and Karen, was still alive and her prognosis was positive.
