In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), hearings continue in the appeal trial of the assassins of Floribert Chebeya and Fidèle Bazana. The various witnesses cited by the defendant Paul Mwilambwe went to the bar of the High Military Court of Kinshasa. And almost all denied having played a role in the exfiltration of Mwilambwe. The civil parties say they are disappointed by these witnesses. Back to these hearings.

Last witness to appear this Wednesday, Colonel Mbayo wa Lenge. At the helm, the man in police uniform admitted having belonged to the legal college of the General John Numbibut he denied having played any role in the exfiltration of Paul Mwilambwewhether from the military justice buildings to the ANR and then from Kinshasa to Lubumbashi.

A testimony relatively similar to that of other witnesses who preceded him, in particular the former military auditor general Ponde, the ANR agent Consul Numbi or even General Djadjidja.

For the civil parties, it is imperative to confront all the witnesses with each other and with the defendant Mwilambwe, as explained to us by Me Elie Mbikayi Mwamba. ” We cannot accept that people who hold certain truths hide them and lie before the High Military Court. This is unacceptable and unacceptable! This is why we made this request before the High Military Court for these people to return. »

The High Military Court acceded to the request of the civil parties. The confrontation will take place this Friday. Floribert Chebeya and Fidele Bazanahuman rights activists from the NGO La Voix des sans voix, were murdered in June 2010. For the civil party, this is a crime d’Etat.
