Jay-Z’s full performance at Summer Jam 2001 appeared on YouTube, featuring the rapper with Michael Jackson.
It’s one of the cult moments in hip-hop history, now documented with new footage. This Tuesday, several videos emerged on YouTube: we see Jay-Z at the 2001 edition of the Summer Jam. It was the HipHopVCR account that uploaded the video, in which we see the author of Blueprint rap alongside Michael Jackson. Complexit would be the first publication of the event in its entirety.

We also notice new camera angles, shared by Andrew Barber of Fake Shore Drive, revealing an onstage discussion between Hov and the King of Pop. The crowd is cheering, as MJ waves to her. We also find the performance of Jay-Z on the title “Takeover” at the Nassau Coliseum, on June 28 of this year. As specified by the American media, no information has been revealed as to the author of the video.
The 57-minute archive remains in any case cult and oh so important in the history of hip-hop. Also: Jay-Z allegedly threatened the NFL to hold the Super Bowl halftime show.
