Foundry Power Semiconductor (6770-TW) The law held today (12) said that for the recent demand for noise transmission in memory and mature processes, general manager Xie Zaiju said that the company’s memory is not a standard product, and the demand has not slowed down; in terms of mature logic processes, driver ICs , CMOS demand is indeed facing revision, but it will increase the proportion of other products, and also actively cultivate the automotive field.
As for whether the demand for memory has slowed down, Xie Zaiju said that PSMC’s memory focuses on special applications rather than mainstream PC or mobile phone applications. In the first quarter, standard products such as PCs or mobile phones have indeed slowed down, but the company The product does not feel the same.
Xie Zaiju pointed out that since March, he felt that the market application of the company’s products was more active in the second quarter, and the demand for small-scale Netcom system applications was greater, especially 25nm still might not meet all customer needs.
The legal person asked whether the 28-nanometer mature process capacity of the fab will be released one following another, and whether it will squeeze out orders for the 40-nanometer process of NSMC. Xie Zaiju believes that no matter which process, there is a particularly suitable product line service range. The phenomenon is especially obvious in DRAM, and advancing a process forward may not necessarily bring more benefits to the product.
Regarding whether there will be excess capacity in mature processes, Xie Zaiju said that TSMC (2330-TW)(TSM-US) There are 14 factories in Taiwan to be expanded, mainly to expand advanced processes, mainly to produce large chips required for CPU and GPU such as data centers and servers, but these products all need to be matched with peripheral low-end mature process chips. Expansion of mature manufacturing process will greatly affect TSMC, UMC (2330-TW)(UMC-US) is attractive, and PSMC is working on mid-to-low-level mature processes, which can just meet the demand.
Regarding the recent mature process requirements for noise transmission, Xie Zaiju believes that the demand in the field of driver IC and CMOS is indeed facing revision. He will focus on improving product lines such as power management IC, mixed-signal chips, and MCU. In cooperation with customers, it is expected that new products will be released in 1.5 to 2 years, and the probability of idle production capacity in mature processes is very low.
In terms of DRAM, Xie Zaiju also said that although the 72- and 63-nanometer process for automotive memory is an old production line, the sustainable demand will be as long as 5 to 10 years and will not be eliminated.
Power Semiconductor’s current automotive IC revenue accounts for regarding 6-7%. Xie Zaiju said that in the next two years, new products including IGBT and MOSFET will be added one following another. It is expected that in 2025, the revenue ratio of automotive products will double to 12%. -15%.
