The head of the Executive assured that the electronic vote must be considered following the electoral reform that contemplates that it be the citizens who choose the members of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF), a proposal that he announced on March 29 . “I am going to propose that the people elect the electoral councilors and the magistrates directly, with a direct vote. The people are going to choose directly, it’s over, or I hope it’s over, the dome agreements, contrary to the interest of the people, “he said at that time. Andrés Manuel López Obrador made reference to the 2006 elections, assuring that there was electoral fraud due to the management of the vote counting system that was in charge of the company Hildebrando, belonging to the brother-in-law of the candidate for the National Action Party, Felipe Calderón, who officially won. “Do not rule out this possibility because there are going to be honest people, not these corrupt ones,” since the representatives would not be linked to vested interests or parties, said the former head of government of Mexico City. Likewise, López Obrador assured that if the electronic vote is approved, there would also be savings, “also imagine how much we save,” he expressed before representatives of the media. He added that this proposal would give the possibility for Mexicans abroad, especially those in the United States, to participate and reach a number of up to 40 million people. He assured that they would vote from their phones regardless of their immigration status and would not have to expose themselves to trying to return to the country to exercise that right.

How many Mexicans participated in the revocation of the mandate?

The 3 times that it has been implemented, it has had a great acceptance. In 2021 it had a participation of 55.96% of registered voters and this year 46.53%, demonstrating great confidence in this system, ”said councilor Carla Humphrey on her Twitter account.
