Apple briefly released a support sheet for a 35W power adapter with two USB-C ports. A highly anticipated accessory that does not exist in the catalog at the moment.
It’s rare that dumplings come directly from Apple. And yet, this time, it is a document published a little too early that has managed to see 9to5Mac on the brand’s American website.
In a support document, the specialized site thus learned of the existence of a power charger with two USB-C ports. This accessory is obviously not planned for marketing at the moment and the document was quickly withdrawn.
Recover part of its consumers
However, we learn some information there, such as support for GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology, which has replaced silicon since the latest MacBook Pro 16. This allows for more compact, more powerful and less of energy loss. The famous new charger would also count on a power of 35 W. This adapter would be used to charge several iPhones, iPad or an iPhone (even iPhone 13 Pro Max) in addition to one Apple Watchfor example, and many other USB-C devices.
So far, Apple has sold a 30 W USB-C adapter, but with a single port, more intended for iPhones and iPads, or more powerful adapters of 67 W and more for MacBooks, also in single port. But none can charge two devices at the same time while other brands like Anker, Green_e and so many others already do. And above all, at a time when Apple has removed the adapters from its iPhone and Apple Watch boxes, users are often tempted to dip into other manufacturers to find the right product. Apple might thus bring some of its own consumers back into its fold with a two-in-one product.
It’s been rumored several times that a new power adapter is in sight at Apple. It would indeed require a much more powerful adapter to support at least the MagSafe Duo which allows you to charge your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. A new version of this accessory is still awaited.
From Apple to Oppo via Samsung and Xiaomi, the majority of smartphone manufacturers today offer technologies that allow you to quickly charge your smartphone’s battery: Quick Charge, Fast Charge, Power Delivery, etc.
