A new charger for the next iPhone

Apple published and then withdrew a document in which it mentions a 35 W charger which has the particularity of having two USB-C ports.

Dual-port UBS-C adapters aren’t cutting-edge in any way, accessory makers have been offering them for years now, but this would be a first for Apple, and good news for fans of the brand. .

This discovery of an “Apple 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter” comes from a support document put online by Apple which was quickly removed… However, 9toMac intercepted the document which highlights this new type of charger. Here is an excerpt from the document in question:

Use the Apple 35W Dual-Port USB-C Power Adapter and a USB-C cable (not included) to charge your device. Connect a USB-C cable to one of the charger ports, extend the electrical pins (if needed), then plug the adapter firmly into the power outlet. Make sure the power outlet is easily accessible for disconnection. Connect the other end of the cable to your device.”

Two USB-C ports: what use

With 35W output, the dual charger would have enough power to charge multiple devices at the same time. Indeed, this charger would be able to charge several iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or other accessories simultaneously. The idea here is to connect two products at the same time.

It is currently difficult to say whether Apple will actually market this 35 W charger with two USB-C ports. It is not impossible that the manufacturer will launch it at its WWDC conference on June 6, but the company might also wait for the arrival of the next iPhone 14 in September.
