According to Ukraine Crisis Media Center reporter Tetyana Ogarkova, several people reported the presence of “mines shaped like toys for children to touch”.
In an interview with LCN, Ms. Ogarkova said on Sunday that she was back in the capital for the first time since the start of the war. She and her spouse must go to their neighborhood to see what condition their apartment is in, but above all, to check if the area is safe.
“The biggest risk at the moment are mines which are everywhere and which have been reported, in particular, in the north of the city”, proclaims the journalist.
The latter also wants to make sure that there is enough food in the grocery stores to feed the population before returning to Kyiv with all her family.
The first signs are encouraging, says Tetyana Ogarkova, who says the city is slowly coming back to life.
“There are more and more cars, there are more and more people coming back. Most stores are open. There are even some restaurants and cafes that are already open. We see more and more people arriving,” she says.
