If he knew how to conquer the hearts of many women, Jean-Paul Belmondo did not manage to seduce a certain… Brigitte Bardot. During the 1950s, the actor had actually tried to approach the beautiful blonde.

During his life, Jean-Paul Belmondo has multiplied the conquests. From his first wife Élodie Constantin to Barbara Gandolfi, his last companion, via Natty Tardivel and Ursula Andress, the one who was considered a real sex symbol knew seduce many women. There is, however, one who probably did not succumb to the mythical charm of the deceased actor September 6th. It is Brigitte Bardot. Also considered a beauty icon at the time, the actress who became a fervent animal rights activist a, one day in the 1950s, rebuffed his advances.

In his book Belmondo by Belmondopublished in November 2016 by Fayard editions, le papa de Stella had gone back on his unsuccessful attempt to seduce the pretty blonde. “Only Brigitte Bardot has escaped, despite very convincing and torrid attempts together, my power of seduction”, he had written. On February 16, 2017, the movie star had given more details regarding this moment, when he was invited on the set of the Big Newspaper on Canal+. “I was doing a test with Bardot: I was fondling his breasts”, he said. Jean-Paul Belmondo was actually trying to land the lead role in the film The truthby Henri-Georges Clouzot, released in theaters in 1960, in which Brigitte Bardot already appeared.

The steamy scene that might have brought them together

For this test, the two actors played a hottest scene, during which they had to kiss and hug. Even as they turned “once, twice, three times, four times…” the sequence, had specified Alain Delon’s friend, that “didn’t work”. And this for a very simple reason, at the time, the one we nicknamed BB was already in a relationship with Jean-Louis Trintignant.
