Three attacks in two weeks: mutilated horses in the province of Namur, “he had his tendon severed”

Concern is spreading to the equestrian world of the province of Namur. Two weeks ago, a pony was mutilated before dying from its injuries. This week, two other horses suffered the same fate – without them dying – barely 15 km further from the first incident.

One of the horses -Nalino- has the right posterior extensor tendon severed, the other -Gabriel- a deep wound. Fortunately, their condition is improving thanks to the care they receive.

On Facebook, the owner announces that he has filed a complaint with the police and appeals to the surrounding rides for vigilance. “Owners of horses, stables and equestrian centers in the region, without sinking into panic fear, be vigilant!

Eline, the owner of the pony found dead in her meadow two weeks ago, testifies to the brutality of the perpetrators. “We found him emasculated with a fractured skull and a big bruise on his right buttock, as if he had been shot in it. He had a trace of injection at the level of the jugular vein. Surely he was given a tranquilizer”.

In order to protect her six other ponies and horses, Eline had no choice but to install surveillance cameras and motion detectors.

This experience traumatized the young girl who says “to fear” when she sees that horses are left alone at night in sometimes isolated meadows. “I want to tell the owners to be very careful.”

According to the police, there would be no link between the two attacks at this stage.
