Pune: The Mumbai Indians got off to a good start in the power play following losing the toss once morest Royal Challengers Bangalore (Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians) in the IPL 2022. At stumps, Mumbai are 49 not out at Auroville. Ishant Kishan (22 off 22 balls) and Rohit Sharma (26 off 14 balls) were at the crease.
Start with care
Mumbai started cautiously, scoring just one run in the first over and five runs in the second over in the power play. Mumbai hit their first four off the fifth ball of the second over off Mohammad Siraj. In the third over, Mumbai won the toss and elected to field. Mumbai, who scored just 13 runs in the first three overs, were in top gear with 16 runs in the fourth over off Mohammad Siraj.
Siraj was hit by sixes and fours as Rohit was in good form and the Mumbai scoreboard jumped. Faf Duplessis’ decision to bowl Hazarenka in the power play itself did not help. There are two changes in the Mumbai team as well. Timel Mills was replaced by Jayadev Unadghat and Daniel Sams was replaced by Ramandeep Singh in the final XI. Malayalee player Basil Thampi is also in Mumbai’s final XI.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are fifth with four points from two-thirds wins this season. Mumbai, meanwhile, are ninth in the three-match losing streak. Despite the defeat, Faf Duplessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore are aiming for their third consecutive win once morest Mumbai. Mumbai, on the other hand, have lost three matches in a row.
