The UAE has imposed restrictions on kindergarten products following reports of bacteria spreading to Europe through kindergarten products. The ministry has ordered the withdrawal of two batches of Kinder Surprise chocolates from the market. The Ministry of Environment has ordered the immediate withdrawal of two batches of Kinder Surprise Uvo Maxi Chocolate from Belgium.
The ministry has instructed municipalities and other affiliated departments across the emirate to either destroy the chocolates they withdraw from the market or return them to their home country.
The problem was found in two batches of Kinder Surprise Yuo Maxi chocolate, which are manufactured in eight factories in Belgium, but the ministry said it would strengthen surveillance on other products made by Kinder maker Ferrero. As part of Ramadan, the Dubai Municipality is already strictly enforcing the quality control of food products on the market.
