Rubin Ritter left the fashion giant last year and is taking care of the family.
Scream with happiness! ex-Zalando-Boss Rubin Ritter (40) went on parental leave as a multi-millionaire. The money should be enough for quite a few diapers and a fancy stroller.
The former manager of the Berlin fashion retailer received a five-digit fixed annual salary. But with stock options there was an extra performance incentive. This allows the owner to buy or sell a share at the pre-determined issue price. A top deal: Zalando went public in 2014 and is now worth more than twelve billion euros!
In 2021 alone, Ritter was able to collect around 89 million euros by exercising the stock options. This emerges from the annual report of the online company (meanwhile 17,000 employees).
Of the 89 million, he triggered 42.5 million while he was still playing. Then Ritter left Zalando last year to devote himself to his family and received the remaining 46.6 million. Another reason for resigning: he wanted to give his wife (a judge) the opportunity to pursue a better career. According to his LinkedIn profile, the 40-year-old is still on parental leave.
By the way: For 2020, Ritter received a remuneration of 53.3 million euros through stock options, writes the “Manager Magazin”.
