The twelve groups for the last qualifying round for the 2023 African Cup of Nations will be formed on Tuesday April 19, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. (Universal Time). It is up to Côte d’Ivoire to host, next year, the grand- continental football mass. Currently, 47 selections are in the race to win the 23 tickets available. Two teams from each group, except that of the automatically qualified host country, will take part in the competition. The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has made up the four essential hats for the draw. Once completed, the first two rounds of the qualifiers will be played from May 30 to June 14, 2022. Rounds 3 and 4 will be held between September 19 and 27, 2022. The last two will take place from March 20 to 28, 2023. In addition , the governing body of African football will proceed on April 25, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. (Universal Time), to the draw for the final phase of the Women’s Can Morocco 2022. Three days later, the qualifying groups for the African Nations Championship (Chan), scheduled for Algeria in 2023, will be known. Here is the composition of the hats for the Can 2023 qualifiers: Hat 1: Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Mali, Ivory Coast, Burkina, Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Hat 2: South Africa, Cabo Verde, Guinea, Uganda, Gabon, Benin, Zambia, Congo, Madagascar, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea and Sierra Leone. Hat 3: Namibia, Guinea Bissau, Niger, Mauritania, Libya, Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Gambia, Togo, Angola and Central Africa. Pot 4: Comoros, Tanzania, Sudan, Rwanda, Liberia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Ethiopia, Burundi, South Sudan and São-Tomé-et-Príncipe.
