A rendering of the design of what would be the OnePlus Nord 2T appeared via a leak on Twitter and offers us to discover in more detail a photo module with a rather particular design.
OnePlus is making some rather surprising choices right now. After releasing its new OnePlus 10 Pro without its usual “standard” version, here is the design of the one that should apparently be the successor of the OnePlus Nord 2 : the OnePlus Nord 2T.
The image comes to us from the Twitter account of Yogesh Baran editor of 91Mobiles and the site Onsitego. We immediately notice at the sight of this design some aesthetic changes at the level of the rear photo module that we had already had the opportunity to meet. According to the source, OnePlus would not change optics, but would modify the appearance of its sensors to have a rear module different from the previous one.
The brand would therefore approach this time a design with two circles, one of them hosting the main 50 Mpx sensor, while the other would house the 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle camera as well as the monochrome sensor of 2 Mpx .
We can also see that the layout of the flash seems to move a little too with a layout similar to what Realme can do on its GT 2 Pro, a cousin brand of OnePlus.
A design that risks dividing
The oddest choice here, beyond the empty space this layout leaves, is that of sensor asymmetry. Having a somewhat differentiating design can help with brand identification, but here we can say that the design is quite incongruous if not polarizing. We like it or we don’t like it.
We know that OnePlus reserves some of its models for certain markets. If this smartphone were to arrive with us, the brand would therefore resume its strategy of declination of smartphones under the name T which it had left aside (at least for Europe) following the launch of the OnePlus 9 Series. It will be interesting to see if this smartphone will retain the fairly effective value for money that made its predecessor attractive.
This OnePlus Nord 2T should be launched with a new Mediatek SoC, the Dimensity 1300, a charging power that would increase to 80W just like its big brother, the OnePlus 10 Pro and a 90Hz screen similar to the previous model.
